Conceptual Planner

Use Conceptual Planner to draft new products before they enter operational release tracking. It keeps planning details in one place so teams can collaborate before committing final product values.

  1. Open Product Catalog -> Conceptual Planner.
  2. Click New to create a Draft Product.
  3. Enter draft details (name, release date, style, concept, ABV, BBT volume, price tier, series).
  4. Update the draft as planning details evolve.
  5. Publish once the release date is valid, then continue in Release Planner and standard Product editing.

Included

Only draft products that are not yet linked to a Product record.

Removed after publish

As soon as a draft is published and linked to a Product, it no longer appears in Conceptual Planner.

  • If the date is missing or in the past, Publish stays disabled.
  • Publishing is idempotent and duplicate-safe: backend locks selected draft rows, skips drafts already linked to products, and creates Product records only for still-unlinked drafts.
  • Publishing creates a Product linked to the Draft Product, so draft values remain available as concept fallback values.
  • Draft title is required.
  • Delete is available only while the draft is still unlinked (not published).
  • Series can be selected from existing options or typed as a new value during form entry.

Planning legend

red = desired/estimated, black = target/goal, blue = actual.

How rows are emphasized

In Conceptual Planner rows, planning fields are primarily shown with red emphasis (release date, series, style, concept, ABV, BBT volume, price tier).

  • Concept details are captured and reviewed.
  • Drafts are published when release timing is ready.
  • Products move into release and production tracking workflows.
