2025-05-14 Improved Packaging and Sales Plans
Lot Sales Plans and Lot Packaging Plans are being replaced with much nicer Sales Plans and Batch Packaging pages. This page shows:
- comparisons of the old verses new workflows
- details the shortcomings of the old workflows
- details the improvements in the new workflows
Comparing - old vs new
Old Sales Plans

Problems
- You can only press the Commit button once
- Users don’t plan sales on a per-lot basis
- Repackaging information is hidden from the users in a modal
- Repackaging is confusing to understand
- You could reallocate to any variant, even if it doesnt exist in the target Sales Channel
- There are hidden rules which stop users from being able to Commit their sales plans
New Sales Plans
Can be found:
Sales & Distribution > Sales Centre

Reallocate page

Improvements
- No longer tied to lot, you can create as many Sales Plans as you want per Product
- You can create a Sales Plan from any Sales Channel
- The Summary at the top shows you what is currently in your selected planned Sales Channel vs the change after repackaging and reallocating
- Repackaging is shown to the user on the same screen and is much easier to understand
- Reallocating does not allow input for Shop Variants that don’t exist, for example you don’t sell Kegs to B2C
- A floating box tells you how much in Litres you’ve reallocated, and how much is remaining in your planned Sales Channel
- Helpful colours to inform the user
- Green boxes show there is quantity remaining
- Red boxes show if you’ve over allocated (not shown)
- A Reallocate page gives the user an overview of what is being moved, with warnings displayed if there is any remaining to be reallocated, or if you’ve over allocated
Old Packaging Plans

Problems
- Users don’t plan packaging per lot
- This is the main way users create barcodes, and all barcode information on this page is hidden
- Its very difficult to determine if there are any barcode issues on this page, like if there are any that don’t exist. It is also difficult to correct these issues.
- The table can extend past the screen horizontally for products with many variant types
New Batch pages
Packaging page

Barcodes page

Improvements
- Package directly from BrewKeeper! No iPad scanning required
- Packaging automatically creates all necessary barcodes
- Barcodes are all rendered for the user to see
- User can easily add barcodes for any date
- Any missing barcodes will show the user an “Add missing barcodes” button (not shown)
Further improvements
A lot of work has been put into improving the entire workflow from creating a Batch to Allocating to Shipments. Other than these pages, new pages have been created to help the user:
- Repackaging for Shipments
- Printing barcodes for shipments for allocating to orders
See examples of these new pages in our Workflows / Packaging to Allocating page
